There is something so powerful about the lines, shapes and tones that make up a moment and how all of these elements are able to merge together to ultimately make the viewer feel something. Understanding how and why things appear the way that they do, has been my inspiration in all that I create. By observing not only how the world works around me, but also how it works in momentary fragments (such as a photograph), I am able to formulate a clearer understanding of the patterns within meticulous detail. I have found that using a pencil offers me the best precision to translate these shapes, lines, and tones that I encounter. This enables me to then, communicate my perception as if I were putting the pieces of a puzzle together, to form an overall visually recognizable image. Within the past couple of years I've found that by intertwining the essence of all of my passions (art, physics, math, dance, etc.) I have been able to explore different ways of expressing my vision through my art. Understanding not only how things physically work, but visually work, holds great importance to me and never fails to act as my muse.
